Requirements

Degree in Computer Science (or commensurate experience in data structures/algorithms/distributed systems)
Ability to scale backend systems – sharding, partitioning, scaling horizontally are second nature
Desire to ship code and love of seeing code run in production
Solid understanding of distributed systems and scalability challenges
Team player skills – embracing collaboration
Thorough understanding of engineering best practices (appropriate testing paradigms, effective peer code reviews, resilient architecture)
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, test-driven, collaborative, and iterative programming environment
Skills to meet commitments on time and produce high-quality software (unit tested, code reviewed, regularly checked in for continuous integration)
Enthusiasm and openness to learning and developing skills alongside the team
Experience in distributed technologies, API and systems design, and writing high-scale code

Responsibilities

Design, develop, document, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale services
Take ownership and be accountable for deliverables
Triage system issues and debug by analyzing sources of issues and impact on service operations
Mentor other engineers on web and backend services
Constantly re-evaluate products to improve architecture, testing coverage, knowledge models, user experience, performance, observability, and stability
Partner with product teams to understand needs, document new requirements with PMs, and implement new features in feature services
Collect and manage huge amounts of data, distilling it into easily digestible, powerful, and flexible reports
Build external customer-facing experiences (registration, onboarding, usage reporting) and internal systems/reports for engineering teams to executive leadership
Reduce friction between sales teams and customers, provide clarity to finance on license compliance, and seek insights on product adoption and usage
