The Infra Engineering Team

The Infra Engineering team is responsible for supporting Deel's engineering growth by building a platform that enables product teams to deliver business value more rapidly. While a dedicated DevOps team manages the core infrastructure, this team operates at the intersection of DevOps and engineering, focusing on enforcing standards and best practices, creating tooling, maintaining internal libraries, providing architectural guidance, owning high-loaded core services, and responding to production incidents. The role is approximately 65% engineering and 35% DevOps, offering significant freedom coupled with responsibility.

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking a seasoned Back-End Engineer with:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Back-End Engineer.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency with Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker.
    • Experience with Node.js, Postgres/MySQL, and RabbitMQ/Nats/Kafka.
    • Experience with Infrastructure and observability/monitoring tools.
    • Strong system design and problem-solving skills, with experience handling complex and undefined challenges.
    • Experience in building CI/CD pipelines.
  • Desired Skills:
    • Experience building Internal Developer Platforms and tooling.
  • Attributes:
    • Hands-on troubleshooter.
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to orchestrate projects involving 10+ teams.
    • Readiness to take on challenges.
