Requirements

  • 10-12 years of experience in IBM MQ Administration on Unix and Windows operating systems
  • Solid experience in system administration, change management, user management, and software logistics
  • Good experience in administration and troubleshooting of IBM MQ File Transactions
  • Knowledge of Control-M batch processing
  • Good exposure to applying security layers between MQ Queue Managers and Agents
  • Experience deploying Bar files / IIB / Pub-Sub / applying security
  • Scripting knowledge (Shell, Python preferred)
  • Understanding of queues, FTP, SFTP, HTTP protocols, and debug flows
  • Knowledge of mqsi commands on IIB
  • Good knowledge of Midrange environment, especially Linux (RHEL)
  • Knowledge of MQ Clustering & Troubleshooting, SSL Configuration
  • Experience with MQ Monitoring tools
  • Capacity analysis skills for senior level
  • Knowledge of RDQM and MQ in cloud
  • Experience in Pub/Sub, process, triggers in MQ
  • 4+ years of WebSphere MQ Administration experience (V6.2 & above) on UNIX platforms
  • Experience in IBM PMR problem determination and troubleshooting
  • Experience with product & Fixpack installations and version upgrades of WebSphere MQ
  • Proficiency in MQSC and PCF commands
  • Strong skills in Distributed Queue Management
  • Strong skills in MQ channel configuration using different transmission protocols
  • Experience with MQ Clusters
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, system, and performance tuning skills
  • Proficiency in managing, configuring, and monitoring MQ Listeners, Command Servers, Channel initiators, Trigger Monitors, MQ Log files & Dead Letter Queues
  • Strong with MQ Client applications & MQ client configuration
  • Ability to setup security for WebSphere MQ queues & objects using role-based security
  • Proficiency in SSL Configuration on WebSphere MQ
  • Proficiency in writing/editing UNIX shell scripts
  • Ability to provide off-hours on-call support as part of a rotational team
  • Experience with WMB 6,7,7.5 on Linux, AIX, zOS, Windows servers
  • Self-motivation and technical proficiency in IBM Messaging systems administration and troubleshooting
  • SME level support to 1st level Administrators

Responsibilities

  • Modify/re-design configuration/applications to resolve identified issues
  • Manage, configure, and monitor MQ Listeners, Command Servers, Channel initiators, Trigger Monitors, MQ Log files & Dead Letter Queues
  • Setup of IBM Websphere MQ in a cluster environment for load balancing and Failover
  • Follow IBM Websphere MQ best practices for setup/monitoring and usage
  • Provide impact analysis of newer versions, upgrade paths, and plan/execute upgrades with appropriate versions and patches
  • Setup security on Websphere MQ servers, queues, and applications
  • Provide administration of IBM Messaging systems and support to the designated application technology stack using IBM MQ for maximum uptime
  • Ensure performance, availability, and scalability of the infrastructure
