Requirements

  • M.S. in Biology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, Neurophysiology, or related scientific discipline with a minimum of 2 years industry experience (or BS in Neuroscience, Neurophysiology, or related with minimum of 6 years industry experience)
  • Ability to design, perform, analyze, and critically interpret in vitro experiments on molecular and cellular mechanisms linking metabolism with neuronal function
  • Strong expertise in molecular and cellular biology techniques including western blotting, PCR, cell culture (iPSC and primary), and immunohistochemistry
  • Prior experience with microscopy and imaging analysis
  • Excellent troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills, attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication skills to present data and conclusions clearly to research teams and leadership
  • Firm understanding of neuroscience
  • Demonstrated expertise in research as evidenced by excellent peer-reviewed publication record

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and implement innovative approaches to add functional capabilities and gain new insights into disease biology, compound target engagement, and pharmacodynamics
  • Perform research on molecular and cellular mechanisms linking metabolism with neuronal function
  • Work collaboratively across multiple geographies of Lilly’s research sites as part of a cross-functional team exploring connections between metabolic processes and neuronal function
  • Contribute to the development of innovative therapeutic strategies in pain and neuronal health research
