Requirements

  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring instruments
  • Ability to interpret diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment maintenance (motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines)
  • Ability to dismantle devices and remove defective parts
  • Proficiency in using measuring instruments (rules, calipers, micrometers)
  • Ability to adjust functional parts and install special parts
  • Basic electrical knowledge (repairing electrical equipment, analyzing circuits)
  • Welding skills (various types of metal, racks, shelves, stands)
  • Ability to perform bearing analysis and installation

Responsibilities

  • Repairs and maintains machinery and equipment according to specifications
  • Dismantles devices to access and remove defective parts
  • Inspects used parts to determine dimensional changes
  • Adjusts and repairs functional parts
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts
  • Installs special parts
  • Starts devices to test their performance
  • Lubricates and cleans parts
  • Operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools
  • Requisitions supplies and equipment
  • Repairs electrical equipment
  • Ensures proper tool and equipment use, care, and storage
  • Performs preventive maintenance on uninterrupted power supply systems, generators, and air compressors
  • Analyzes electrical circuits and installs/repairs electrical devices and systems
  • May respond to 24-hour emergency calls for assigned work area
