Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related field, and possess at least 5 years of dedicated hands-on experience developing and deploying machine learning models at scale. They should also have 2+ years of experience managing or mentoring data scientists or machine learning engineers, along with proficiency in Python and familiarity with languages like Java. A solid foundation in machine learning techniques, including regression, classification, deep learning, and collaborative filtering, is required, as is experience with model deployment tools such as FastAPI and Docker, and cloud ML platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Responsibilities

The Applied Science Manager - AI/GAI will lead and mentor a team of machine learning scientists and engineers to deliver high-quality ML/AI solutions, owning the entire ML lifecycle from data exploration to model deployment and monitoring. They will architect and implement models for recommendation systems, classification, forecasting, and generative AI use-cases, collaborating cross-functionally with product, engineering, and MLOps teams to translate business needs into scalable ML solutions. This role involves leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to build intelligent customer experiences, championing model performance, interpretability, and reproducibility, and contributing to reusable AI/ML tooling and best practices to improve development velocity.
