Senior Field Application Engineer
NVIDIAFull Time
Senior (5 to 8 years)
Candidates must possess 5+ years of experience in software engineering, machine learning engineering, applied machine learning, or a related field with a focus on building model-driven, production workloads. A deep familiarity with data science fundamentals, working knowledge of linear algebra and its application to embeddings, and the ability to analyze customer data, design experiments, and interpret results for diverse stakeholders are essential. Experience with rich internal documentation and communication is also required. Familiarity with video processing tools like ffmpeg, proficiency in Python and AI/ML libraries, experience with lower-level languages like C/C++/Rust, knowledge of LLM/multimodal workflows (embeddings, RAG, prompt engineering, etc.), and experience deploying AI/ML systems in cloud environments are considered advantageous.
The Applied AI Engineer will act as a hands-on technical expert to help customers implement TwelveLabs' full-stack video understanding AI into production-ready solutions. This involves prototyping, integrating, and optimizing AI applications built on TwelveLabs' models and products. The engineer will collaborate with Science, Product, and Engineering teams to enhance model capabilities and develop repeatable patterns for real-world adoption. Key duties include experimenting with and tuning TwelveLabs models using customer data, integrating solutions into customer technology stacks, developing evaluation frameworks for performance metrics, and creating reusable assets like code samples and documentation to accelerate adoption. The role also requires close collaboration with SPE teams to co-design experiments, validate new capabilities, and provide feedback to influence the product roadmap based on field insights.
AI system for video content understanding
Twelve Labs focuses on artificial intelligence and video understanding by developing a system that analyzes videos to extract key features like actions, objects, and speech. This information is transformed into vector representations, enabling fast semantic search within large video datasets. The company differentiates itself by providing a platform that is faster and more effective than many existing models, allowing developers and product managers to easily integrate its technology through an API. Twelve Labs aims to make all videos searchable, enhancing the way businesses utilize video content.
