- Strong understanding of animation principles
- Proficiency in Maya (required)
- Fine art background demonstrating understanding of physical motion, weight, balance, and form (highly desired)
- Knowledge of human and animal anatomy and life drawing skills (desirable)
- 2-year diploma or 1-year certificate preferred, or 2-3 years of relevant experience
- Must provide a demo reel showcasing relevant artistic and technical experience, including nuances for this specific role
- Excellent communication skills in both French and English
Responsibilities
- Creates animated characters and objects according to direction
- Animates primary and secondary characters using traditional and computer graphics systems
- Conveys emotion through body language and facial expressions/dialog
- Meets schedules and show deadlines
- Participates in dailies, rounds, and team reviews
- Interacts with production, supervisors, and team members to problem-solve and share information
- Deciphers and follows shot turnovers, dailies, briefings, and feedback
- Works efficiently as part of a team or independently to resolve design solutions
- Animates various shot types, from simple to moderately difficult
