Requirements

  • Australian resident or valid working visa
  • 2–3 years’ experience in AML/CTF compliance or financial crime risk management
  • Strong understanding of AUSTRAC’s AML/CTF framework and recent reforms
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Tertiary qualifications preferred
  • Experience in a regulated financial or legal environment
  • Familiarity with Tranche 2 obligations for real estate
  • Ability to interpret legislation and regulatory guidance
  • Proactive, analytical, and detail-oriented mindset

Responsibilities

  • Lead governance, oversight, and program implementation for AML/CTF compliance in the Australian business
  • Ensure the business meets obligations under Australia’s AML/CTF laws and AUSTRAC requirements
  • Oversee and coordinate compliance with AML/CTF obligations
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and systems operate effectively
  • Report AML/CTF risks and compliance concerns to senior leadership
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining the AML/CTF Program, tailored to the risk profile and AUSTRAC expectations
  • Monitor transactions and customer activity for suspicious behaviour
  • Submit SMRs, TTRs, and other reports to AUSTRAC
  • Manage audits, feedback, and compliance queries with AUSTRAC
  • Deliver AML/CTF training to staff
  • Promote a strong compliance culture across the organisation
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and ensure documentation meets AUSTRAC’s requirements
  • Act as the primary liaison with AUSTRAC
  • Work closely with senior leadership and influence strategic decisions
