Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Bookkeeping certification level 2 or above (preferred)
  • TOEIC score of 800 or above (preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of financial accounting and bookkeeping (5+ years of experience preferred)
  • Experience using MS Office (especially Excel functions required; data editing, PivotTables, and formulas mandatory; VBA preferred; Word and PowerPoint for internal materials; Access)
  • English communication skills (email mandatory)
  • Ability to flexibly adapt to changes in the work environment
  • Meticulous personality with a sense of responsibility to perform tasks accurately
  • Cooperative, able to work collaboratively within a team
  • Ability to actively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to build cooperative relationships

Responsibilities

  • Create journal entries for insurance transactions
  • Prepare financial reporting documents under Japanese and US GAAP
  • Perform quarterly and annual closing tasks
  • Review prepared documents (including inquiries from overseas business partners)
  • Handle SOX and external audit correspondence (e.g., PwC)
  • Respond to settlement-related inquiries from parent company, group companies, and related parties
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Monitor insurance-related accounts to ensure appropriate balances and operations
  • Report relevant information to parent company and business counterparties
  • Perform fund settlements for reinsurance and co-insurance
