Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Proficiency in aerodynamic simulation tools and techniques, such as Missile Datcom, Xfoil, OpenVSP, XFLR5, and/or STAR-CCM+
  • Strong foundation in fluid dynamics and aerodynamic principles, with experience optimizing vehicle performance
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Perform airflow analysis and provide insight into the aerodynamic performance of various vehicle platforms, including air-breathing aircraft and missiles
  • Use computational tools, hand calculations, and testing methods to optimize vehicle shapes for performance metrics such as drag reduction, stability, and fuel efficiency
  • Contribute to the design and development of airframe geometries from first principles, ensuring designs align with mission requirements
  • Support wind tunnel and flight testing campaigns, analyze test data, and refine designs based on results
  • Work closely with propulsion, structures, and systems teams to integrate aerodynamic considerations into overall vehicle design
