Requirements

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (further tertiary study highly regarded)
  • Previous construction site HSE experience (preferably within the electrical construction environment)
  • Ability to confidently assess a range of risks and potential hazards and put together safe working plans in line with Acciona's systems and processes
  • Advanced communication skills and ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking regular and systematic audits covering management systems, safe work procedures, behavioural safety, and preventative measures, including thorough risk assessments of all tasks and activities
  • Building strong relationships and working closely with contracting partners, superintendents, and supervisors to ensure compliance with Acciona and Western Power procedures
  • Undertaking site safety walks (with client or management) and ensuring close out of all corrective actions
  • Providing HSEQ support, advice, and assistance to all project personnel
  • Carrying out and providing support during incident investigations
  • Helping facilitate and maintaining a consistent presence at pre-start meetings and toolbox talks (requiring robust and comprehensive risk assessments)
  • Advising Engineers and assisting with the preparation of "Work Package" construction documentation, including fit-for-purpose Project Management Plan (PMP), Construction Safety Procedures (referencing global SWMS and PHRAs), Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), and Plant Hazard Risk Assessments (PHRAs)
