Requirements

  • Certified Gambling Addiction Counselor I (CGAC-I) via MHACBO
  • At least 1 year of experience providing services to clients with problem gambling
  • Competency in culturally specific services, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing
  • Understanding of the Recovery Model
  • Proficiency in using computer systems for job-related tasks and preparing reports

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and regularly update clients’ needs; conduct assessments for problem gambling treatment for new clients
  • Develop, implement, and assess client treatment plans using established treatment models, including individual and group therapy, relapse prevention, and family/support sessions
  • Coordinate continuity of care by collaborating with internal and external service providers
  • Maintain accurate and compliant clinical records using the Electronic Health Record System (EHR)
  • Comply with all federal regulations, including HIPAA and 42CFR, and follow company policies and mandatory reporting laws
  • Develop long-term treatment plans for clients, including assessing and addressing pathological and problem gambling
  • Actively participate in all scheduled staff meetings, supervision sessions, and other departmental and agency meetings
  • Provide assistance in crisis situations and follow emergency protocols
  • Carry out other duties as assigned to support the mission and vision of Cascadia Health
  • Provide preventative services, such as community outreach to youth and older adults for awareness and education, and deliver treatment services through clinic-based sessions with some remote work or telehealth options
