Requirements

  • Strong background in financial accounting, US and local GAAP reporting, and team management
  • Knowledge of the Caterpillar organization, its products, policies, and procedures (desired)
  • Strong analytical skills to perform detailed financial analysis and prepare strategic plans
  • Credentialed expertise (CPA, CMA or equivalents) and solid practical experience in technical accounting and reporting issues (strongly preferred)
  • Professional degree or certification requiring several years of full-time study after a college degree
  • 6-8 or more years of progressively responsible job-related experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the department
  • Valid Swiss work permit or Swiss or EU-25/EFTA citizenship

Responsibilities

  • Oversight for US GAAP reporting, including monthly legal entity financial closing, journal entry and account reconciliation review/approval/oversight, and monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to Corporate Accounting
  • Fiduciary responsibilities for complete, accurate, and timely financial reporting for entities in scope (~15 ledgers in Switzerland, Luxembourg, UK, and Slovakia; ~20bn USD annual sales)
  • Manage a team of 2 accounting professionals in Geneva as well as support personnel in the RTR Center of Excellence and COE in India
  • Participate in GBS projects including system deployments, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement & standardization initiatives
  • SOX compliance and coordination of PWC and internal audits
  • Provide accounting guidance for the India Managed Service Provider
  • Act as an essential partner and financial advisor to the CSARL Tax and Treasury groups
  • Provide business support to other internal customers
