Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and provide appropriate basic life support (BLS) care in accordance with New Jersey Statewide EMS Protocols and medical command directives
  • Administer high-quality, evidence-based care while ensuring patient safety and comfort
  • Operate ambulances safely and professionally, demonstrating defensive driving techniques, maintaining situational awareness, and ensuring vehicle readiness
  • Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, responses, and transfer of care using ePCR system, meeting regulatory standards
  • Respond promptly to quality assurance and medical oversight requests
  • Conduct and document vehicle and equipment checks at shift start, stock supplies, and report issues
  • Maintain medical equipment, vehicles, and facilities in a safe, clean, organized manner, following infection control and decontamination protocols
  • Actively participate in training and onboarding of new staff, students, and inter-agency personnel, providing mentorship and feedback
