Requirements

Licensed pharmacist (implied by role as Staff Pharmacist)
Ability to take direction from Pharmacy Manager and oversee pharmacy operations as proxy
Knowledge of safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Skills in coaching and providing feedback to pharmacy team members
Ability to assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as primary pharmacist-on-duty
Familiarity with pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails

Capability to proactively offer and deliver immunizations, and support technicians in learning to immunize
Knowledge of inventory best practices, especially cold chain management

Ability to maintain and update relevant clinical and technical skills through trainings and CMEs
Competence in pharmacist-delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services where permissible

Responsibilities

Live CVS Health purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing
Oversee pharmacy during bench shifts without overlap, including coaching team, following up on performance, and providing feedback to Pharmacy Manager
Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing team on workflow procedures and safety guardrails
Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, collaborating with healthcare teams, and resolving insurance/medication issues; coach team to do the same
Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to immunize
Manage pharmacy inventory by following and coaching team on best practices, focusing on cold chain products
Partner with Pharmacy Manager to ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalate issues as needed
Remain flexible for scheduling/business needs, contribute to safe/inclusive team dynamic, and write pharmacy schedule if directed
Maintain clinical/technical skills via company trainings and CMEs; seek opportunities to expand knowledge
Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through clinical services like testing and prescribing (e.g., COVID/Flu, Hormonal Contraception) where permissible; empower team to provide services
