Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous warehouse experience preferred
  • Ability to adapt to job duty and department changes
  • Physical abilities: seeing, color perception, hearing/listening, clear speech, climbing, ability to move distances within and between warehouses/offices, lifting up to 70 pounds, carrying up to 30 pounds, touching, hand and finger dexterity, pushing/pulling, ability to mount and dismount forklift/truck, driving
  • Mental/reasoning abilities: reading (simple and complex), writing (simple), basic math skills
  • Ability to work in environments involving shift work, outside, extreme heat, extreme cold, moving objects, working alone or with others, verbal and face-to-face contact, inside, noise, mechanical equipment, dirt and dust

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload merchandise
  • Check, verify, and audit merchandise; enter data into remote data terminals to ensure ordered merchandise is accurate and undamaged
  • Identify, separate, label, and palletize merchandise for relocation within the distribution center
  • Operate forklift-type equipment to move and store merchandise; replenish pick areas based on screens or requests
  • Fill merchandise orders by selecting and moving items from active locations to conveyors, slots, pallets, or boxes
  • Load merchandise onto trailers from conveyors or pallets; scan non-conveyable or non-diverted items prior to loading
  • Check merchandise to ensure shipments are accurate, undamaged, and loaded on the proper trailer
  • Perform general housekeeping duties
  • Perform varied duties based on department assignment, which may change according to distribution center needs
