Ability to work in-person with product development teams

Responsibilities

Complete design and simulation tasks in support of Caterpillar product development
Engineer components and systems for Caterpillar products (Product Design)
Perform simulation/performance analysis including CFD (ANSYS), FEA, 3D modeling, root cause investigation, and optimization of engine, aftertreatment, battery, fuel cell, powertrain, and machine systems
Apply mechanical engineering in test/validation environments, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating for optimal results
Develop and implement control system algorithms using Matlab/Simulink for engine, machine implement, and powertrain controllers, including requirement understanding, implementation, and testing
Design and test electronic control modules and components, collaborate with internal clients and suppliers, perform PCB schematic design, circuit analysis/testing, and conduct/document FMEAs
Develop embedded software in C, C#, C++ for electronic control modules, covering datalink communications, I/O, speed calculation, injection/spark timing, memory management, CPU optimization, multi-core design, and automation scripts in Python/Visual Basic
Verify functionality of features or control system algorithms on HIL or SIL systems, understanding requirements and schematics
