Requirements

  • Experienced and highly motivated in Materials & Processes (M&P) for aircraft certification testing
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and certification requirements
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations and other airworthiness authorities for Part 23 and Part 27 eVTOL aircraft
  • Ability to travel 25-50% of the time to Headquarters in California, interface with Certification Authorities, or audit Testing Facilities
  • Willingness to work hybrid onsite at Montreal office 3 days per week with flexibility for remaining days (remote option based in Montreal, Canada)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the M&P Test team, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback
  • Manage Engineering Test Program & Cert Test Program activities
  • Run weekly test program status meetings
  • Help drive engineering test programs to completion
  • Drive Facilities Upgrades & Issues, including improvements for M&P lab to meet requirements for controlled contamination area for panel fabrication
  • Write CCA Policy & Training, and train employees across IPT’s
  • Develop, implement, and maintain M&P testing strategies and procedures in accordance with FAA and other relevant airworthiness authorities for Part 23 and 27 eVTOL aircraft
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and analysis of various material and component tests, including mechanical properties testing (tensile, compression, shear, fatigue, fracture toughness), environmental testing (temperature, humidity, salt spray, UV), flammability testing, fluid compatibility testing, and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods
  • Supervise all aspects of qualification, testing, and documentation of materials and processes to ensure compliance with aviation regulations and standards
  • Collaborate closely with design engineering, manufacturing, and other teams
