Requirements

  • Cisco CCNP or greater in Wireless, Juniper JNCIS-MistAI-Wireless, or CWDP preferred
  • Deep Engineering level experience in wireless solutions
  • In depth knowledge of WiFi 6 and 6e
  • Working knowledge of WiFi 7
  • Knowledge of IP network protocols
  • Network security experience
  • Proficient in conducting both predictive and physical wireless surveys
  • Ability to run large scale proof of concepts
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
  • Solid written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Fluent in English (written and oral)
  • Experienced IT professional with 5+ years overall experience and minimum of 3 years as a Wireless Network Engineer
  • Experience in the design and delivery of customer-facing and executive level presentations (2 years minimum)
  • Experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting wireless network systems, and protocol standards such as: 802.1x, 802.11ax, 802.11ac and 802.11be (2 years)
  • Experience creating large scale wireless network designs in both Greenfield and Brownfield deployments

Responsibilities

  • Utilize technical skills to coordinate wireless network enhancements and deployment efforts
  • Responsible for UMG’s wireless strategy and direction
  • Develop and maintain wireless network standards and procedures
  • Develop designs and configurations for wireless networks and wireless security equipment
  • Develop and maintain configuration guides and knowledgebase articles for wireless network topics
  • Create wireless network predictive heat maps to facilitate wireless designs for a site
  • Conduct wireless network surveys
  • Utilizing knowledge of technology, UMG’s business needs, and UMG’s capabilities to serve as a liaison between stakeholders and UMG IT
  • Review proposed solutions to ensure the delivery of a quality product or service
  • Confirm the alignment of customer expectations and wireless designs
  • Be the liaison between facilities and IT to ensure mobile network support/coverage
  • Provide documentation and communication to peers and management for status, coordination, objectives, and performance
  • Develop and present training on wireless network topics to engineering, implementation, and operations teams
  • Serve as a tier-4 escalation point for wireless network issues
  • Conduct proof of concepts for wireless technologies
  • Ensure compliance with incident, problem, and change management procedures and standards to ITIL standards by all Sourcing Provider(s)
  • Attend technical project review meetings
  • Ensure project technical designs meet UMG’s operational requirements and are in compliance with UMG infrastructure and security standards
  • Other tasks as deemed necessary or appropriate
  • Technical ownership and delivery on wireless infrastructure projects and for wireless infrastructure aspects of Application projects
