Requirements

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Strong experience in evaluating, planning, designing, and constructing water and wastewater systems
  • Familiarity with master planning, permitting, treatment, and distribution systems
  • Experience performing condition assessments of sewer facilities and rehab recommendations
  • Proficiency in preparing design plans for reservoirs, stations, sewer lift stations, sewer, and water main infrastructure
  • Knowledge of municipal wastewater systems, including collection system infrastructure, pumping system hydraulics, and wastewater treatment processes
  • Experience with Construction Administration, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and contractor payment applications
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD software
  • Strong proactive communication skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a professional, reliable, and organized manner
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% within Southern California region
  • Ability to spend time in the field or on construction projects as applicable

Responsibilities

  • Work on planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects (drinking water, recycled water, wastewater, water resources, conveyance)
  • Coordinate your work and the work of junior engineers
  • Develop and monitor schedule and budget components of larger projects
  • Demonstrate strong communication to keep project team updated
  • Lead designs or portions of designs
  • Coordinate discipline work (civil, mechanical, structural, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, geotech, survey) internally and with sub-contractors
  • Guide designers/drafters on design drawing production using AutoCAD
  • Make decisions independently or with oversight on engineering problems and methods
  • Mentor and direct junior staff on technical assignments and review their technical work
  • Interact with clients and professionally represent the firm
  • Coordinate with contractors and clients in the field during construction to ensure compliance with specifications and drawings
  • Support marketing and proposal efforts
  • Participate in company initiatives
  • Interface with local and state regulatory agencies
