Requirements

  • Experienced in processing operations, particularly in dairy or milk processing
  • Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Ability to monitor production processes (e.g., milk receiving, separation, standardization, pasteurization, batching)
  • Skilled in verifying paperwork, charts (e.g., frequency, pen cut in/out, temperatures), and product recording temperatures
  • Capable of troubleshooting and resolving basic to moderate operating difficulties
  • Ability to communicate problems or concerns affecting production efficiency or food safety to management
  • Observes confined space safety guidelines and wears required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ensures safe chemical handling, fall restraints, equipment sanitation (CIP and hand cleaning), and reports safety issues
  • Maintains process data, equipment performance data, fats, total solids, allergens, and cryoscopes for quality and efficiency
  • Uses policies, data, and resources to complete assignments, collaborate with teams, identify priorities, and adapt to change
  • Complies with company policies, procedures, ethics, and integrity standards

Responsibilities

  • Monitor dairy plant production processes (e.g., milk receiving, separation, standardization, pasteurization, batching) following SOPs and GMPs
  • Ensure all paperwork is accurate and verify charts including frequency, pen cut in/out, temperatures, and product recording temperatures
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties; communicate problems or concerns restricting production efficiency or food safety to management
  • Follow required safety practices: observe confined space guidelines, wear PPE, ensure safe chemical handling and fall restraints, maintain sanitation (CIP and hand cleaning), and report safety concerns
  • Support Continuous Improvement by maintaining process and equipment performance data, operating/cleaning equipment to maximize throughput and minimize downtime, communicating mechanical/operational issues, and monitoring product parameters (fats, total solids, allergens, cryoscopes)
  • Operate equipment at recommended speeds to meet quality and efficiency standards
  • Complete work assignments and priorities using policies, data, and resources; collaborate with managers, coworkers, customers, and partners; identify priorities/deadlines; communicate progress; recommend improvements; adapt to change
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, ethics, and integrity by implementing action plans and using Open Door Policy
