Requirements

High School education or equivalent
Massachusetts License to Operate Motor Vehicles and satisfactory driving record (CDL License strongly preferred)
Ability to obtain a Class A CDL license before progressing to the next level
Pass Company approved EEI testing (CAST) and successfully complete Underground prescreen
Two years of electrical/mechanical/technical experience preferred, with demonstrated interest and aptitude for splicing, cable, conduit work, and underground electric systems
Ability and willingness to perform heavy physical work indoors and outdoors in all seasons, for extended periods, and in confined spaces (preferred)
Ability to learn fundamentals of electricity, underground electrical system layout/functions/construction, splicing theory/practices, standards/specifications for installation/maintenance/repair, and equipment operations for safety/first aid
No need for immigration sponsorship (applicants requiring it should not apply)
Availability for rotating shift work and emergency response outside normal hours/location

Responsibilities

Inspecting, installing, constructing, maintaining, and repairing underground plant and equipment
Performing functions associated with cable and conduit installation
Operating trucks and equipment of any size in conjunction with inspecting, installing, connecting, disconnecting, and repairing cable, conductors, and other plant/equipment
Assisting or being assisted by personnel of higher, equal, or lower rating for tasks within the line of progression
Responding to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs, including emergency restoration assignments outside normal responsibilities, work hours, and location
