Candidates must have 3+ years of experience in UX/UI design with a strong focus on accessibility and inclusive design. A deep understanding of ADA, Section 508, and WCAG 2.1/2.2 guidelines is required, along with experience conducting manual and automated accessibility testing and remediating issues. Proficiency in Figma and other design/prototyping tools is essential, as is a strong portfolio showcasing accessible design work and documentation. Familiarity with assistive technologies and excellent attention to detail are necessary, as are strong communication and collaboration skills. Knowledge of front-end development (HTML/CSS/JavaScript) is a plus.
The UI/UX Designer will design and document user experiences that are fully accessible, inclusive, and aligned with ADA and WCAG standards. They will create comprehensive UI/UX deliverables including interaction models, task flows, personas, wireframes, site maps, and user/functional requirements. Responsibilities include translating design concepts into functional, interactive prototypes using Figma, communicating design rationale and accessibility considerations clearly to stakeholders, and maintaining, innovating, and iterating on existing design systems and application interfaces. The designer will also assist with accessibility audits and usability testing, collaborate with developers to ensure accessible implementation of UI components and resolve accessibility issues, advocate for accessibility best practices, and participate in user research and testing.
