Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. They must have at least 5 years of experience in cloud security or cybersecurity, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role. A deep understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP is required, along with practical experience with vulnerability management in cloud environments and knowledge of cloud security best practices and frameworks like CIS, NIST, SOC 2, and ISO 27001. Hands-on experience with security technologies including firewalls, encryption, and IAM is also essential.
As a Threat Mitigation Lead, the individual will lead the Cloud Security Threat Mitigation effort across various cloud environments, driving the implementation of mitigation strategies and collaborating with cyber engineering, architecture, DevOps, and IT teams. They will partner with cloud security and cyber leadership to prioritize identified security threats, provide guidance, and raise awareness on mitigation activities. The role involves balancing security and business objectives, driving ‘Stay Secure’ Cloud initiatives, executing threat mitigation strategies for vulnerabilities and configuration enhancements, and ensuring effective tracking and management of risks throughout their lifecycle. Furthermore, the candidate will provide regular updates to cyber leadership on progress, recommend improvements in cloud security practices, and foster a security-aware culture among cloud platform teams, while also maintaining visibility into ongoing efforts to mitigate threats and ensure a strong cloud security posture.
