Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with alignment, calibration, and maintenance of industrial laser equipment (optics, beam delivery, scanners, stages)

  • Minimum 5 years experience developing industrial laser processes (ablation, scribing, cutting, drilling, surface modification)
  • Strong understanding of web dynamics including tension control, tracking, splicing, and substrate handling
  • Familiarity with laser scribing techniques for thin films
  • Comfortable working with mechanical, optical, and electrical systems on production tools

Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and qualify laser ablation and laser scribing processes for thin-film photovoltaic layers (P1/P2/P3 patterning or equivalent)
  • Operate and maintain roll-to-roll laser scribing systems used for thin-film production
  • Monitor process parameters and equipment performance to ensure optimal web tension, alignment, and film uniformity
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on web-handling and deposition equipment
  • Work with the team to optimize and develop new processes
  • Support process development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts in collaboration with engineering and R&D teams
  • Handle substrates and materials (e.g., substrates, WIP) with care and precision in accordance with SOPs
  • Document operational steps, process deviations, and maintenance activities in production logs and reports
