Position Overview

Vultr is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Test Automation Engineer to join our Site Reliability Engineering team. This is a highly visible role in a high-growth technology company, focused on UI and API test automation. The ideal candidate is a motivated, self-starter excited about building and maintaining robust test automation frameworks. Responsibilities

  • Test Automation Development: Write efficient and maintainable UI and API tests, including thorough documentation and test reporting for transparency and reproducibility.
  • Test Automation Maintenance: Maintain existing tests to ensure continued support for evolving customer usage patterns.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other engineering teams to align development efforts with reliability, scalability, and business objectives.
  • Documentation: Produce high-quality test plans for APIs, systems, and processes to ensure stability, speed, and scalability.
  • Mentorship: Share knowledge with team members, fostering expertise in test automation best practices.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven experience in writing automated tests using Python (Selenium).
  • CI/CD: Familiarity with running tests through Gitlab CI.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Experience with cloud infrastructure and knowledge of cloud-based services.
  • Observability: Proficiency with observability tools such as Grafana for monitoring and reporting test failures.
  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem-solving skills with a proven ability to address complex automation challenges.
  • Communication: Effective communication and collaboration abilities for cross-functional teamwork.
  • Learning: Commitment to continuous learning and fostering technical excellence.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with Database as a Service (DBaaS).
  • Knowledge of cloud-based storage solutions.

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000
  • Note: Salary may vary based on location, years of experience, background, and skill set.
