Requirements

  • At least 6 months of experience in the field
  • Capable of lifting up to approximately 70 pounds of product during duration of the shift
  • Capable of operating a forklift and standing pallet jack
  • Capable of visually inspecting product by the box or pallet
  • Good hand/eye coordination
  • Capable of working in a very cold environment with slippery surfaces
  • Capable of working in excess of 8 hours per shift and up to 6 or 7 days per week when required
  • Capable of standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, reaching, and lifting

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all materials are transported and/or unloaded in a timely manner while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures
  • Load trailers in proper order (Forklift driver)
  • Use proper code dates when unloading trailers
  • Ensure that product requested is put on trailer when available
  • Properly store product in receiving cooler
  • Maintain clean coolers at all times
  • Report any damage done to trailers, coolers, freezer, forklift, or product immediately
  • Ensure that trailer doors are shut and unit is turned on if load is not finished at end of shift
  • Ensure that all paperwork is complete, neat, and accurate before turning it in
  • Pull pallets from the line and put them in the staging area using a riding jack (Jack Driver)
  • Move pallets from the staging area to the pallet wrapper and then to the cooler using a riding jack
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor or lead
