Candidates must possess an Associate's Degree in Computer Science or a related field with at least 13 years of experience, including a minimum of 7 years in IT team management. Highly experienced in operationalizing IT strategies with core capabilities in governance, supply chain, and workload prioritization is required, along with well-developed relationship management skills and the ability to build strong internal and external networks. Preferred qualifications include experience leading an IT supply chain management function, leading systems implementations, in-depth knowledge of systems supporting medical device R&D, experience with security and privacy requirements within systems, familiarity with computer systems validation, and experience navigating IT audits for security and compliance.
The Technical Director will lead and direct a department responsible for managing business managed systems and applications for product design and development. This includes developing and maintaining vendor and leadership relationships to implement IT strategy, balancing competing priorities, and influencing the broader technology organization. The role involves developing diverse talent, assembling effective teams, and driving action within medical device regulations and a matrixed environment. Responsibilities also include directing managers and their teams, collaborating with R&D and IT leaders on technology alignment, creating and implementing strategies for IT solution acquisition and management, identifying and evaluating disruptive threats, and driving technology investments. The director will develop and manage system roadmaps, build, plan, assess, and prioritize service-related initiatives, and ensure consistent delivery of programs, projects, and support. Budget management is also a key responsibility.
