Candidates should possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail, excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, a keen eye for accuracy, strong fundamental math skills, and strong communication skills, both oral and written. Experience or general knowledge within the securities industry is a plus, along with an understanding of general accounting principles and experience with creating or working with tax documents. The ability to use appropriate, professional language and grammar, work in a team environment, and possess excellent customer service skills are also required. General understanding of Microsoft operation system and the ability to work scheduled hours for complete coverage across all times zones in which the company does business are necessary.
Responsibilities
The Tax Reporting Specialist will create, review, and approve tax documents, including Form 1099, for D.A. Davidson’s clients, ensuring compliance with IRS regulations and securities industry standards. They will work collaboratively with Operations Managers, Wealth Management, and branch staff to ensure optimum support levels, verify the accuracy of all data included on tax forms, and ensure timely and accurate delivery of tax documents to clients through secure digital platforms or mail. The role also involves collaborating with internal teams to resolve discrepancies or issues with tax document information, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with IRS deadlines for tax document distribution.
