Responsibilities

  • Work closely with senior developers on individual projects involving design, development, debugging, and testing of software components for handling financial data, real-time events, and batch processing
  • Face problems without well-defined solutions and apply creativity, including exploring new technologies
  • Learn about financial markets and quantitative trading
  • Build understanding of various trading technologies and make contributions to them
  • Develop tooling used for infrastructure management
  • Contribute to the infrastructure and maintenance of large-scale data sets
  • Apply new idioms, techniques, and algorithms in program correctness (resource management, exception safety, reentrancy/thread safety)
  • Apply practices for maintainability (portability, good coding practices, adherence to coding standards, unit testing, documentation)
  • Focus on efficiency (optimal data structures/algorithms, high-/low-level implications and trade-offs, parallelization)
  • Participate in intern and company-wide social events to contribute to PDT's culture
