Requirements

Thorough knowledge of caseload management and rehabilitation methods, principles, and techniques related to mental health and substance use disorder treatment
Knowledge of problems encountered by persons with mental health and/or substance use disorders
Considerable knowledge of methods and modalities, as well as legal requirements and court procedures related to treating mental health and substance use disorders
Ability to establish rapport with client/patient population
Capable of employing methods and counseling techniques effectively to assist clients/patients in engaging in recovery and improving overall functioning
Capable of communicating ideas clearly and effectively
Complete annual training identified through individualized training plan meeting minimum training hours per ASAM (Missouri) or 40 hours every 2 years with 3 hours in Ethics (Kansas), focusing on evidence-based practices and improved clinical skill sets

Responsibilities

Complete intake/screening/assessment process within appropriate time frames as designated by state regulatory/accrediting body/agency standards
Develop treatment plans for clients in accordance with state regulatory/accrediting body guidelines that demonstrate individualization and evolution based on assessment information
Complete correspondence in a timely fashion
Participate in clinical staffing/treatment team meetings providing feedback on pertinent cases
Adhere to weekly Collaborative Service Goal (CSG) expectations/service provision model
Document all services provided in accordance with state regulatory/accrediting body/agency standards, ensuring entry within appropriate time frames, format, and reference to treatment plans
Correct any file/charting deficiencies within the appropriate time frame
Assist clients through the transition process and complete final correspondence such as transition summary, plan, letter, etc
Represent the agency within the community in a professional manner
Maintain positive, professional relationships with referral sources, clients, and coworkers, adhering to Code of Ethics and agency policies
Handle crisis situations as they arise
Facilitate group counseling, group education, family conferences, and individual sessions focused on resolving problems related to substance use that interfere with functioning
Work with clients/patients to examine attitudes, feelings, and behaviors that promote recovery, healthy decision making, and improved problem-solving skills
Demonstrate interest in long-term and short-term goals and objectives of the company
Other duties as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor, Program Director, Vice President, or Executive Team members
