Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience in mechanical structure analysis: static structure, bolted joints, fatigue, rotordynamics, modal
  • Experience in FEA (ANSYS workbench preferred)
  • Methodical, rigorous and efficient

Responsibilities

  • Assess, understand and challenge boundary conditions from interfacing groups
  • Perform hand calculations and FEA to ensure product integrity at minimum weight
  • Document analyses for internal reviews and certification purposes
  • Evaluate need for and define requirements for coupon / specimen or bench test to support validation and verification of structure
  • Support definition of test plans for full engine tests on test stand or on aircraft to verify analyses
  • Collaborate with design to ensure the most efficient products are defined
  • Collaborate with the systems and certification team to ensure certifiability of products
  • Contribute to the development of propulsion system components used in the motors and inverters, from a blank page to a certified product
  • Optimize designs to meet performance requirements, minimize weight and maximize robustness
  • Documenting the analyses, validating the boundary conditions and results by developing test plans and analyzing test data and correlating to the predictions
  • Develop manufacturing tooling and validation equipment such as propeller stands, dynos, bench top test rigs
