Requirements

  • Previous experience in instrument processing, sterilization, or a similar role preferred
  • Veterinary medicine experience preferred
  • Knowledge of sterilization techniques, including autoclave, cold, and gas sterilization methods
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
  • Availability for three 10-hour shifts (9:00am - 7:00pm), including Monday and Friday

Responsibilities

  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize all surgical and procedural instruments according to clinic protocols and industry standards
  • Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including autoclave, cold sterilization systems, and gas sterilization units
  • Properly handle orthopedic surgical equipment, endoscopy scopes, and other delicate equipment
  • Inspect instruments for damage or wear and report any issues promptly
  • Wrap and package instruments for sterilization and proper storage
  • Maintain accurate rotation of instruments to ensure readiness for procedures
  • Handle instruments with care to prevent contamination and maintain sterility
  • Monitor and document sterilization cycles and equipment performance
  • Adhere to all safety and infection control guidelines
