Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation is a strong advantage
3-5 years of experience in statutory accounting and reporting, particularly within industries like insurance, finance, or highly regulated environments
Strong knowledge of statutory accounting principles (SAP) and GAAP
Proficiency with financial reporting tools and systems, such as Oracle, SAP, or similar
Advanced Excel skills with experience handling large datasets and creating reports
Excellent attention to detail
Strong communication skills – able to explain complex concepts clearly
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with evolving regulatory requirements
Responsibilities
Prepare and submit timely and accurate statutory financial statements in compliance with SAP and other relevant regulatory frameworks
Handle quarterly and annual filings, ensuring full compliance with state and federal regulatory bodies
Reconcile statutory financial reports to GAAP-based financial statements, investigating and explaining variances
Stay current with evolving statutory accounting standards, regulations, and compliance requirements
Collaborate with auditors during statutory audits, ensuring accurate and timely provision of supporting documentation
Monitor regulatory developments and changes to ensure ongoing compliance with local, state, and federal rules
Assist in preparing cash flow statements, income statements, and balance sheets in accordance with statutory guidelines
Work closely with internal accounting teams to enhance and streamline financial reporting processes
Provide detailed financial analysis, offering insights to support decision-making across the business
