Candidates must possess an MS in Biostatistics/Statistics or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of direct work experience in the pharmaceutical industry, or a PhD in Biostatistics/Statistics with at least 6 years of experience. Strong knowledge of data handling and statistical analysis programming in PC-SAS is required, along with expertise in experimental design, mixed linear and non-linear model methodologies, and categorical data analysis. Excellent oral and written communication and statistical consulting skills are essential, as is the ability to critically review scientific publications and work in ambiguous situations.
The Statistician will provide statistical support to multiple discovery, development, and product defense teams within Veterinary Medicine Research and Development. They will identify and implement innovative approaches for the design and analysis of clinical and laboratory trials, review statistical literature for practical implementation, participate on project teams, serve as a liaison between Statistics and other departmental groups, assist in the training of scientists, and actively participate in group meetings to ensure a common approach to handling clinical and laboratory data. They will also develop training programs and mentor others, and potentially work with clinical and laboratory trials for pharmaceutical and/or vaccine products, adhering to GCP and GLP principles.
