Requirements

  • PhD in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or similar field
  • Preference for Synthetic, Organic, or Organometallic Chemistry degrees
  • Experience in new material and chemical development, ideally within the automotive or tire industry
  • Experience in a research and development organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional communication and technical documentation skills
  • Experience in elastomeric composite design and formulation is a strong asset

Responsibilities

  • Develop new material technologies that optimize performance while balancing cost and environmental impact
  • Design and execute laboratory studies to evaluate material technologies, interpreting results based on the underlying chemistry and physics
  • Collaborate closely with suppliers, design teams, and applied development groups to ensure alignment and successful technology integration
  • Provide on-site support during plant trials to validate material performance and assist in troubleshooting
  • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively across technical and non-technical audiences to support decision-making and project advancement
