The salary range for this role is $198,900 to [upper limit not fully specified in the description]. This is a good faith estimate based on California Bay Area locations and applicable state laws.
This role is based remotely, but if you live within a 50-mile radius of Mountain View, you are expected to report to that location three times per week at minimum.
Candidates need a Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, 5+ years of AI/ML research and applied development experience, deep expertise in modern ML architectures like transformers and generative AI, strong Python programming skills, and excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring abilities.
The AI Research team is collaborative and innovative, focused on advancing the state-of-the-art in AI for autonomous vehicles, with opportunities to work closely with multidisciplinary engineering groups and represent GM externally.
A competitive edge comes from demonstrated research impact in AI/ML through important publications in top conferences or contributions to industry-leading systems, plus AV/ADAS experience.
