Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, and have at least 7 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on machine learning. Strong programming skills in Python and experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch are required, along with a solid understanding of LLMs and small language and vision models.

Responsibilities

As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and integration of Generative AI solutions within Firefox, collaborating with product management and engineering teams. You will build infrastructure for training and inference of LLMs and small language and vision models, implement robust validation and testing procedures, and contribute to safe and healthy machine learning experiences. Additionally, you will mentor junior and senior engineers, sequence deliverables, manage risks, provide feedback on team strategy, and identify opportunities for improvement to foster an inclusive and allyship-driven culture.
