Senior ML Research Scientist

Candidates must possess a PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, along with at least 5 years of industry experience in NLP and machine learning, particularly with Large Language Models (LLMs). Strong programming skills in Python are essential, as is experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow. Additionally, candidates should have experience in large-scale data processing and distributed computing, as well as training autoregressive language models like LLaMA or GPT-x. Familiarity with open-source LLM platforms and training stacks, such as HuggingFace and Deepspeed, is also required. Experience in healthcare or life sciences is a plus, and there is a strong preference for candidates who can work onsite in Palo Alto, CA.
The Applied Scientist will be responsible for enhancing the product, safety, and intelligence of the system by researching and implementing innovative AI solutions into the models. They will collaborate with accomplished doctoral candidates and industry experts, contributing to ongoing research and development initiatives. The role includes developing, improving, and exploring the capabilities of LLMs to address complex real-world problems, particularly in building Conversational AI products.
