Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer/electrical engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience or Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience in embedded systems development and testing
  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience testing and verifying embedded software/firmware for robotics, motion control, thermal control, sonication, or optics using Helix, TestRail, Zephyr, Jenkins, and GitLab
  • Minimum 5 years of experience developing test automation frameworks in Python and working with embedded C/C++ in production environments
  • Minimum 4 years of experience designing, building, and executing Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test platforms for embedded systems validation
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in regulated industries such as diagnostics, medical devices, avionics, or automotive including hands-on debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and sensor logging tools
  • (Plus) Direct, in-depth experience working under IEC 62304 guidelines
  • (Plus) Experience with formal software V&V processes under an ISO 13485 Quality Management System

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain end-to-end firmware verification strategies and reusable test automation frameworks for diagnostic/medical devices using Python and firmware engineering tools/API/SDK
  • Design and execute formal verification protocols and automated test suites covering black-box and white-box testing of low-level drivers and complex system behaviors
  • Build and sustain Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments for automated, repeatable firmware testing on target hardware platforms
  • Author verification documentation compliant with IEC 62304 and FDA submission standards, including test plans, protocols, and reports for regulated diagnostic/medical devices
  • Integrate automated firmware tests into CI/CT pipelines using DBS Tools and represent firmware team in cross-functional product core teams for requirement clarification and compliance tracking
