Requirements

  • Career level experience in planning, designing, or analyzing network components, infrastructure, and architecture (Wireline and Wireless)
  • Provides short- and long-term planning for access network technologies, including analysis, solution recommendations, and implementation
  • Technical professional with some experience and sound technical knowledge of AT&T technologies, growing through application
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the engineering position, design tools, and databases
  • Ability to work independently, complete most types of engineering projects, and resolve complex problems
  • Demonstrates leadership skills and ability to mentor peers and new hires
  • Preferred Bachelor's of Science degree in Math, Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, and/or OSP Design Training/Experience
  • Typically 3-5 years’ experience or applicable working OSP experience with design, Utility Construction, and/or related experience
  • Technical Career Pathway (TCP) role
  • Office presence minimum of 5 days per week in posted location (e.g., Austin, Texas); no relocation offered

Responsibilities

  • Recommends strategic network planning and network evolution policy decisions, both in and out of franchise, in support of corporate initiatives, customer demand, technology changes, economic and service reliability criteria
  • Evaluates network capacity/performance criteria and develops and implements strategies to accommodate network growth and change
  • Creates deliverables, including Plans of Record, Forecasts, Serving Plans, Use Permits, Cost Estimates, Handoffs, Workprints, Utility Agreements, etc
