Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 4 years of engineering related experience, or Master’s degree with 2 years of engineering related experience
  • Excellent communication skills (Nice to Have)
  • Prior experience in product sustaining activities supporting complex launched product updates and enhancements (Nice to Have)
  • Expert understanding (Nice to Have; description cuts off)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to investigations and identify root cause of issues associated with the Medtronic Surgical family of products
  • Work with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, hardware, and software engineering) to support activities for a living platform set of products
  • Coordinate between cross-functional teams to identify impacts and lead change and improvement workstreams
  • Perform impact assessments, evaluate and update requirements, and documentation
  • Research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks
  • Design electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes
  • Deliver and/or manage projects assigned and work with stakeholders to achieve desired results
  • Act as a mentor to colleagues or direct the work of lower level professionals
  • Oversee projects from design to implementation while adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills
  • Work independently under limited supervision to determine and develop approach to solutions
  • Coach and review the work of lower level specialists; may manage projects/processes
  • Be responsible for entire projects or processes within job area; contribute to work group objectives through building relationships and consensus
  • Address difficult problems requiring understanding of multiple issues, job areas, or specialties; make improvements to processes, systems, or products
  • Provide in-depth analysis and recommendations on process improvements
  • Communicate with senior internal and external customers and vendors; exchange information to influence decision making
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees; manage projects requiring delegation and review of work
