Requirements

  • Advanced technical knowledge of HTS, Schedule B, ECCN determinations, WCO, U.S. Customs, and Export Administration Regulations
  • Expertise in SAP-GTS, DCI, Descartes systems for classification accuracy and data integrity
  • Ability to work independently under limited supervision and lead moderately complex projects
  • Experience with product classifications using engineering documentation, drawings, and technical specifications
  • Knowledge of import/export processes including Nairobi Protocol, PGA, FTA eligibility, Section 301 updates, and free-trade agreements
  • Proficiency in FIFO methodology, ServiceNow tracking, and operational metrics for service performance
  • Skills in process improvement, automation (e.g., mass upload tools, HS6 harmonization, dashboards), and SOP development
  • Capability to mentor, coach analysts, lead knowledge-sharing, and support onboarding
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration with Import Operations, R&D, Regulatory, Engineering, IT, and analytics teams
  • Commitment to work minimum 4 days a week onsite

Responsibilities

  • Perform and validate HTS, Schedule B, ECCN determinations using engineering documentation, product drawings, and technical specifications
  • Ensure classification accuracy in SAP-GTS, DCI, and Descartes, maintaining data integrity across systems
  • Lead complex reclassification and data-cleanup initiatives (e.g., DCI extensions, EU feed alignment, Russia Master File, Section 301 updates)
  • Apply regulations to mitigate compliance risk and collaborate on new product classifications and lifecycle changes
  • Support Nairobi Protocol, PGA, and FTA eligibility reviews in end-to-end trade processes
  • Consistently meet or exceed service performance targets using FIFO and ServiceNow
  • Identify workload trends, monitor distribution, recommend solutions, and communicate capacity/project updates to management
  • Drive automation and process efficiency for classification uploads, HS6 harmonization, DCI-SAP feeds; partner on dashboards
  • Lead or contribute to at least one continuous-improvement or automation project annually; document SOPs and work instructions
  • Provide peer reviews, coaching, technical guidance; lead knowledge-sharing sessions; support onboarding via buddy program
  • Review and approve analyst classifications for accuracy, consistency, and policy alignment
