Senior Embedded Software Test Engineer | Airborne Software
Beta TechnologiesFull Time
Expert & Leadership (9+ years)
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace, or an equivalent experience, along with at least 7 years of professional experience with C or C++. They should have experience developing software for embedded or high-performance applications and be able to work in a self-directed manner within a fast-paced environment. A thorough understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, and networking is preferred, as is experience with DO-178C and developing software for safety-critical applications.
As a Flight Software Engineer, the individual will develop highly deterministic C++ software in a bare metal environment, working with sensors and control systems, robustly handling system faults, and integrating with other vehicle subsystems. They will drive requirements and implement excellent unit tests, and have the opportunity to work directly with flight hardware, plan flight testing, and observe their code flying an aircraft. They will also interact with teams and components across the entire automated aircraft and specialize in areas of interest.
Develops automation technology for aircraft
Reliable Robotics develops automation technology for aircraft, focusing on making flying safer, more accessible, and more affordable through autonomous operations. Their systems are designed for both cargo operators and passenger airlines, specifically targeting small (Part 23) and larger (Part 25) aircraft. The company emphasizes a 'certification forward' approach, ensuring that their automated systems meet regulatory standards early in development, which enhances safety and reliability. They have successfully demonstrated fully automated operations for small aircraft and are working on commercializing this technology for broader use. Reliable Robotics generates revenue by selling or licensing their automation systems and may also provide maintenance and support services. Led by co-founder and CEO Robert W. Rose, who has a strong background in aerospace and robotics, the company aims to significantly impact the aviation industry by improving the efficiency and safety of air travel.
