Requirements

Candidates should possess a minimum bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, with a CPA, CIA, or CISA certification strongly preferred. A minimum of 15 years of experience in internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit is required, including at least 5 years of team management experience and prior experience in a public company with quarterly reporting. Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP (ASC 606), subscription and usage-based revenue recognition, and experience with complex SaaS billing and ERP systems are essential. A background in a Big-4 public accounting or audit firm is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

The Sr. Director of SOX and Internal Controls will lead the company's SOX 404 compliance program, including scoping, risk assessment, control design, testing, and remediation. This role involves establishing and maintaining a comprehensive internal control framework, with a focus on automated controls for billing, collection, and revenue recognition. Responsibilities include partnering with IT, Engineering, and Product teams to develop and monitor automated controls, strengthening entity-level and business process controls, and evaluating controls over system access, change management, and data integrity. The individual will drive SOX risk assessments, prepare reports for leadership and auditors, serve as a trusted advisor on controls and risk management, lead a team of professionals, and liaise with external auditors.
