Requirements

  • Four or more years of relevant accounting experience, including at least two years in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and/or corporate financial reporting and/or technical accounting roles
  • Active CPA certification
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial disclosure requirements, with demonstrated ability to perform technical accounting research, write effective position papers, and communicate appropriate accounting treatment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement in all aspects of work
  • Live within commuting distance of offices in Omaha or Lincoln, NE

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial reporting: prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, including footnotes, MD&A, and other disclosures; manage the reporting calendar, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external auditors for timely and accurate filings
  • Provide technical accounting expertise: research and analyze complex accounting issues (e.g., revenue recognition, leases, stock-based compensation); provide technical guidance; develop and maintain accounting policies in accordance with U.S. GAAP; provide accounting support for M&A activity
  • Enhance processes and controls: support quarterly and annual audits; assist with internal controls (SOX) compliance; identify opportunities to drive efficiency and automation; contribute to process improvements in financial reporting and technical accounting
  • Support strategic decision-making: prepare monthly interim financials, flux analysis, and ad-hoc reports and analyses requested by management; stay current on new accounting standards and proactively assess their impact on the Company
