Requirements
- Associate's or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ultrasound Technologist - American Registry For Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent registration upon hire
- New graduates must obtain initial ARDMS registry within 1 year of hire
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
- Ability to work primarily days with possible weekends/evenings/holidays
- Vascular experience recommended
Responsibilities
- Perform transthoracic echoes and vascular ultrasound exams, apply Holter and Event monitors, and perform EKGs on patients of all ages as ordered
- Produce accurate and efficient clinical diagnostic images as directed by providers and/or radiologists according to established standards and protocols
- Initiate proper intervention to radiologist or referring provider when test indicates immediate attention
- Review appropriate indications for tests ordered and contact provider for more information when needed, reporting inappropriate indications to leadership
- Provide test data in a complete and accurate format for presentation to the reading radiologist for interpretation; make hard copy images as directed
- Maintain established department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environment, and infection control
- Assist with staff/student on-the-job training and orientation
- Assist with analysis, collection, and maintenance of records as required by department manager, Quality Improvement, Joint Commission, MDH, ACR standards, OSHA guidelines, or as required by the facility or law
- Assist medical records reconciliation of signed orders to performed exams through daily QC
- Perform general Sonography including Abdomen, OBGYN, Breast, and some Vascular
