Requirements

  • Prior solar installation experience
  • Valid Apprentice Electrician license
  • OSHA 10 certification
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Willingness to travel regionally frequently
  • Ability to withstand heights, climb ladders, and work outdoors for long periods in hot and cool climates
  • Knowledge of local electrical codes
  • Knowledge of residential PV design and components
  • Thorough understanding of residential AC (MicroInverters) and DC (String & Optimizer) PV systems
  • Thorough understanding of residential electrical systems, components, and safe work practices around them
  • Ability to work alone and with teams safely
  • Ability to learn new technical skills and diagnostic/troubleshooting processes
  • Physical ability for light lifting/carrying (under 15 lbs), straight pulling, simple grasping, walking/standing/sitting for extended periods, operating equipment/vehicles, seeing/identifying colors/hearing, writing/counting/reading/telling time
  • Ability to travel by car up to 10% of the time and work indoors/outdoors independently or with others

Responsibilities

  • Respond to service calls from dispatch for customer solar system issues
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Solar, Storage, and Off-Grid systems
  • Physically remove, replace, or repair solar panels on roofs as needed
  • Provide exceptional customer service to homeowners
  • Communicate findings and follow procedures with the manager
  • Complete necessary paperwork, timekeeping, and inventory processing for all service calls
  • Collect payment for services rendered and potentially upsell customers in the field
  • Complete the jobs disposition form after every service call
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by Service Operations Manager
