PhD or Master's in Mechanical Engineering or comparable qualification
6 to 12 years of experience (at least 3 years in automotive or industrial field with focus on simulation and mechanical development)
Deep understanding of Finite Element Method (FEM)
Extensive experience with Simulia Abaqus and Altair Hyperworks (mandatory)
Knowledge of MSC Nastran (advantage)
Knowledge of Ansys Mechanical (advantage)
Professional skills in tool design with Python, C++, object-oriented programming, SQL database programming and interfaces, Git/BitBucket version control, debugging & software testing, experience on software release
Strong analytical skills and conscientious, structured way of working
Excellent English communication skills
Responsibilities
FEA simulation and assessment of turbocharger for automotive with focus on mechanical aspects, thermal management, and durability
Generation of reports and design improvement proposals
Development and improvement of simulation procedures and methodologies
Collaboration with other locations and departments
Simulation-project ownership from planning over execution to reporting
Conduct advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to support structural integrity, durability, and performance optimization of turbomachinery components
Collaborate closely with Design, Testing, and Materials Engineering departments
